Joining the previously released R2-D2, Bandai is finally adding a 2nd character to its Star Wars Tamagotchi range, and it is none other than The Mandalorian’s most iconic teenie Jedi mascot, GROGU!!! Only the most ADORABLE thing has set foot on this planet, from a galaxy far far away.
Fortunately, this Grogu won’t die of starvation like our OG Tamagoctchis from the 90s (RIP). Keep baby Yoda happy by feeding him macarons and squid chowder, just as we saw on The Mandalorian. Also, don’t get trigger-happy with the food, we have been warned against giving him too much squid chowder because… “Brutally jumped on by squids he will be”.
Depending on your feeding habits, pocket Grogu will change into one of 12 different appearances, which include 3 mystery ones. If you’re hoping he will grow up into the legendary Jedi Master Yoda, leader of the Jedi Order, not so lucky there. He’ll be staying cute in his little Grogu form, just placed in different scenarios.
What is a Tamagotchi without games? 2 mini-games are available to play at any time. An additional game will be added based on how you interact with your Grogu, and these games will have 10 different playable outcomes.
There is also a suggestion of “special guests” that will visit every hour. Who will they be? Other Star Wars characters? What will they do? I guess we will find out soon.
There are 2 versions of this super cute Grogu Tamagotchi Nano. One comes in standard blue and the other in a Grogu silicone case that transforms the whole Tamagotchi into the character itself, priced at USD19.99 and USD27.99 respectively. Both will only be available in the US and Japan from the 27th January 2023, but you can pre-order them on Amazon.com now.
