If you grew up playing Neopets, we’ve got some great news for you! They are back and the games are better than ever!
After being unavailable for more than a decade, the game has been revived by the new World of Neopia, Inc. Their first priority was in making the game just as enjoyable as it was when it was first released. Relive some of your fondest memories with the same mini games that you used to love, but with a better look and gameplay.
The original game was meant to give children a safe place to play with other children and build a community that focused on their virtual pets. Mini games were an integral part of the game because it provided games that helped them build up skills, as well as do something with their pets. Players earned Neopoints that they could use to take better care of their pets.
Recently, the team replaced the old Adobe Flash with Ruffle, allowing the player to access the games that they loved as a child. With more than 50 games, not all of them ran perfectly upon launch, but the team has been hard at work fixing the issues and restoring the games to the old game play.
In addition to helping restore the beloved games, they are expanding to include a mobile app version of the game. The new app is called World of Neopets, and the company described it as “a social-simulation game in which you live your ideal Neopian life from the perspective of a Neopet.” Now that is a completely new take on playing with your Neopet!
There is still a lot that is in progress, so many players are approaching the game with cautious optimism.
