Many players have come forward with their grievances, as the bug becomes more and more of a regular occurrence in The Sims 4: Cottage Living. For what is supposed to grant your precious pet eternal life, only summons the dreaded Grim Reaper to take them away. What an absolute tragedy. Hearts are broken and tears are shed across the Internet as EA scramble to fix this existing bug.
The cruel irony of this bug adds humour to an already humorous game. Due to players getting overly attached to their virtual animals, Cottage Living introduced a checkbox where you can tick to choose to give your animals eternal life. Not long after that, there were reports coming in crying about the Grim Reaper appearing and taking their pets away.
The Sims 4: Cottage Life released in July 2021, allows you to raise the likes of chickens, cows, foxes, wild birds and even llamas in a farm setting. This can be quite appealing because it’s functional and fun to raise chickens for eggs, cows for milk, llamas for wool, and possibly have your Sims befriend a wild animal or two. Until, they start unexpectedly dying.
The only news we’ve had so far was from an EA representative who responded to a thread in August 2022 saying, “The team is looking into it. However, it will take some time.” As of this moment, the bug is still very much present, and players are really hoping that this issue will be resolved soon. Because the loss of a loved animal can be rather upsetting, considering The Sims 4 is a simulation that tags to human emotions and connections. This bug has actually put some people off the game, saying that they may only continue again when the bug is completely fixed.
You may download and play The Sims 4 for free, but do keep in mind that the Grim Reaper creeps up more than he should.
